Capstone Project

Reflecting on My Senior Capstone Journey: From Personal Stories to Empowerment

As I prepare for my Senior Presentation, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey this Capstone project has taken me on. Over the past months, I’ve shared stories that were deeply personal, honest, and sometimes difficult to write. Each blog post became part of my growth and helped shape not just my project, but me as a person.

I started with my mental health story in “Surviving, Not Just Existing.” It was raw and real—something I knew others could relate to but don’t always talk about. Then, I explored what happens after survival in “Personal Growth: Why It Matters.” This post pushed me to define what thriving really looks like.

In “I Went Back to School – Was It Worth It?”, I opened up about my fears and motivations for returning to education later in life. That decision wasn’t easy, but sharing it helped me connect with others in similar situations. I also took a lighter, creative turn with “Everyday Water-Based Makeup Routine,” adding a more relatable and lifestyle-oriented voice to my blog. Finally, I teased an exciting interview in “Coming Soon: A Candid Interview with Ashley from Good Energy Salon,” which taught me the value of storytelling through others’ experiences too.

This Capstone project has been more than an assignment. It gave me the space to express, reflect, and empower. As I head into my Senior Presentation, I’m proud of the authenticity and variety each blog brought. They reflect different sides of me—and I hope they resonated with you, too.
